Brother Andrew
Colditz, May 15 1987 -- December 26, 2005
It is with deep sorrow that we
must announce the demise of our cherished friend and brother, Andrew
Spencer Colditz. Andrew was a close friend, and his absence has left
an indelible mark on our lives. Andrew passed away in an automobile
accident while driving to his house in New Jersey on the morning of
the 26th.
Those of us who knew Andrew well remember his
exuberance and youth. We remember him as a precocious and
intelligent student, an avid musician, and a gentle soul. Forming a
friendship with him felt natural; he knew how to have a good time
and make others have a good time too.
Andrew was recently
initiated as a Brother of the Chi Phi Fraternity. His pledge class,
the Gamma Deuterons, distinguished themselves as some of the most
involved and ambitious pledges in Chi Phi's history. Andrew took
pride in being Chi Phi, and we took pride in his
presence.
Our hearts go out to Andrew's grieving family and
his close friends, Trevor Housten and Aaron Cooper. Andrew was a
great person and a kind individual, and he will be deeply missed.
Though a student at RPI for only a semester, Andrew made many
friends. If you feel the need to honor his passing, in lieu of
flowers, his parents request donations to the Friendship School,
Inc. More details are available here.
Andrew's life will be honored and
never forgotten by the Brothers of Chi Phi. May he rest in
peace.
